Introducing Julio
First of all, for Julio, family comes first. Then sport. Those are his two life passions: he can be found spending time playing with his kids, trying the newest and greatest new restaurants with his wife, as well as staying highly active by playing a suite of sports, including basketball, soccer, and padel (a Mexican sport played with rackets that’s similar to tennis, and scored the same).
This month he and his wife are celebrating 10 years of marriage! Julio said, “We met each other at the altar of a church and we got married on the same altar.” What a story!
Working from his house in Antiguo Cuscatlan, El Salvador, he also works remotely from the beautiful Hotel Citlalli in San Salvador, El Salvador. The bilingual (he speaks both fluent English as a second language and his native Spanish) developer said of his work environments, “I work wherever I am, sometimes the beach, others the lake. Last year I worked from Guatemala for a couple of days, and this year I’ll work from Medellin for a week.”
Julio also counts on Parquet’s strong work-life balance as well as the ability for him to work anywhere with an internet connection. “I can always go to all my doctor’s appointments, I can help my wife with the kids and I can spend time with them and be also part of their school life,” he said of Parquet’s all-remote configuration.
As well, his favorite thing about being on the team is the collaborative, democratic aspect of work life, he confidently said he has “a voice and a vote”, going further,” I feel supported and my work is always challenging.”
Julio as a superstar DevOps Manager
Julio has multiple Salesforce certifications, including Administrator, Platform Developer I, CPQ Specialist, Platform App Builder, and he is currently preparing for his Data Architect certification!
His strongest Salesforce DevOps strengths are root problem analysis and proposing sometimes simple and sometimes baroque yet always effective solutions, as well as Salesforce CPQ configuration and development, Record Trigger Flows, and Record Pages.
Within Salesforce, his superpower is using the Salesforce CPQ (Configure, Price, Quote software) API to solve complicated problems in that software, like coupling CPQ with the CRM itself or building complex P&L (Profit & Loss) functionality into Salesforce CPQ to derive and drive better and more accurate KPIs.
Oh, and his favorite mottos that he tries to live by? “God willing”, and “If it’s too good to be true then probably isn’t.”
